What happens after you ask for help

The two weeks after a referral, described honestly — including how long things take and what we will not do.

People hesitate to ask because they do not know what they are starting. So here is the whole thing, without the brochure language.

Day one to two

A navigator reads what you sent and phones you. If you left a voicemail instead, it is the same process. The first call is short — mostly listening, and agreeing a time to talk properly.

The first week

A longer conversation, at your home if you want. It covers eight areas where things tend to go wrong. It takes about an hour and you can stop at any point.

You will be asked to sign one thing: a short statement confirming you live in the county and are happy for us to contact services for you. That is the only paperwork.

The first month

A safety plan written for your household. An Emergency Workbook and a fridge magnet. Referrals to whatever came out of the conversation — and we make those calls, you do not.

Then a check-in after a week, and another after a month.

What we will not do

We will not take over. We will not tell you to put someone in a home. We will not share what you tell us outside the people working with you. And we will not disappear after the first month — staying in touch is the point.
